M/V Victoria Jenna is currently being built at CSC dongfeng yard Chonqqing PRC
With a passenger capacity of 378, the Victoria Jenna will be the largest ship in the Victoria Cruises' fleet. The Yangtze River ship will have 149 standard cabins, 35 junior suites, three deluxe suites and two Shangri-La Suites.

At a gross tonnage of approximately 8,000, the five-passenger-deck Victoria Jenna will be 438.9 feet long(though Project 92-016 beats her on length) and 61.7 feet wide with a draft of 8.5 – 8.8 feet.

All cabins will have televisions with HBO and CNN broadcasts, private bathroom with a shower and bathtub, and a private balcony so passengers can appreciate the magnificent views of the Yangtze River. The Victoria Jenna will feature two dining rooms (a single seating main dining room and an a la carte restaurant), a fitness room, lecture room, library/reading room, the Yangtze Club (theater-style night club), cocktail lounge, beauty salon, gift shop, spacious observation deck, business center, Internet access, health clinic and an atrium lobby.

So, I have the question:
What is the height of this ship? Or what is the limiting height for the ships on the Yangtze river system to go under the bridges?

i dont have the exact data, but it shouldn't be over 20m when the mast is lowered
the limitation on ship's' height on yangtze is 18m when the reservoir reaches its max level which is 175m
usually the water level is only 170m or lower so anything within 20m is acceptable
6 decks is what a cruise ship can get most and almost every vessel with 4 decks or more is equiped with lowerable mast

One more question:
If the level of the water in the reservoir will reach it's max level of 175 m, does this mean that she will not be able to sail under the bridges? Even with the lowered mast, being two meters over the limit?

actually the lowest bridge clearance can be over 20m when the water reaches 175m but due to safety reasons the height must be restricted to 18m(which i dont know why )
surely vessels can be over 20m as well
for example many local inland shipyards start to build small commercial sea-going ships such as oil tankers chemical tankers container ships and ROROs
when they are completed they will be towed to shanghai to deliver to shipping companies from my experience those ships looks higher than river cruise ships with masts and VHF antennas and are still able to sail through the entire Yangtze river without any hassle
maybe Yangtze has the potential to allow larger ships coming in or Chinese maritime authorities are too conservative on that matter who knows

Unfortunately due to the globe financial crisis, the project is now suspended, the final delivery is TBD could be later this year or early next year.

She goes on maiden voyage on September 6th.

sorry folks, been busy with life
MV Victoria Jenna embarked on its maiden voyage on September 6th as it was planned
she left Chonqging for 3 gorges at 11 at night, so i wasn't able to be there to witness her grand opening cruise
but here are some pictures that i took when she was visiting Chonqging ,2 days prior to her maiden voyage. she got to dock at 13th pier of port of Chongqing for her final fittings and provisions ,and a series of inaugural ceremonies followed by that
this was also her second sea trial, (for some reasons i missed her first which i am still mad at myself lol)
she has a tonnage of 10,668 GT

The bridge
What's cool about the bridge is that it has a Garmin gps chart. It displays information such as radar,gps, echo sounder and even surveillance cameras. It can also overlay radar image onto the chart image as well as 3D chart, very sleek product. Bad thing is the screen is too small,making it look like a yacht chart

Sorry, I was too focused on the technical part of the ship and the visit was too short to go around other areas. I basically just went to embark the ship at the main deck and then took an elevator up to the bridge and then down to the bow. I took only one interior picture on my way to the bridge and it's blurry. Maybe next time I will bring more pictures to this forum if I could
